Robert Singleton serves as the Director of Policy & Public Affairs for California and the Western US at Chamber of Progress. Over the last decade, Robert has worked at the intersection of tech and policy, having co-founded and worked at a number of technology startup companies, and performed government affairs work at the local, state, and national levels. Previously Robert served as a Government Partnerships Manager for Bird covering California and the Western US. He also led the Santa Cruz County Business Council, a local business trade association, as its Executive Director.
Robert has always been passionate about the role that technology can play in realizing a forward thinking and inclusive economic vision for the future. In particular, Robert believes that the Internet and digital media should be considered a driving force in enabling civic participation and climate action, having co-founded the civic engagement platform Civinomics while completing his undergraduate degree in Politics at UC Santa Cruz.
Robert has worked in government and public affairs in a variety of capacities, from policy analysis and advocacy to campaigning, and even having been appointed to a local planning commission. In 2022, Robert received his Masters in Public Administration from the Price School of Public Policy, at the University of Southern California.
Robert presently resides in beautiful Santa Cruz, where he and his wife regularly go hiking in the area’s plentiful state parks and forests, as well as spending a lot of time at the beach.
