By forcing online companies to pay and link to nearly every far-right website claiming to provide news, the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act would encourage the spread of hate speech and misinformation.

Going even further, the JCPA also prevents online platforms from removing objectionable content, encouraging clickbait over accurate reporting and ultimately undermining faith in the very industry the bill intends to help.
