On Wednesday, Chamber of Progress published an open letter to Elon Musk, urging the leader of X (formerly Twitter) to stop personally amplifying content that will provoke further rioting and violence in the UK. The letter cites Musk’s comments about impending “civil war” in the UK and his mocking of the UK’s policing efforts in response to ongoing anti-immigrant riots, among other posts.

The letter is authored by Chamber of Progress Senior Director for Europe, Kayvan Hazemi-Jebelli. From the letter:

“I urge you to consider the impact your words are having on the immigrants and minorities who are currently living in fear, or facing prejudice, whether in the UK or abroad. Many of these individuals have been integral to the growth of the tech industry that we know today. Immigrants have worked hard to benefit not only the broader economy, but also contributed to the success of companies like X, Tesla, and SpaceX.”
