Biden’s New Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy A Step Forward for Digital Freedom
Cyber attacks, authoritarian crackdowns highlight need for focused approach
Oct 25, 2021

On Monday, the Biden Administration announced plans to launch a new bureau within the State Department focused on cybersecurity, digital freedom, and promoting trusted telecom systems abroad.

Chamber of Progress CEO Adam Kovacevich releases the following statement:

“This comes just one day after news broke that Russia has launched yet another cyberattack targeting the United States,” said Kovacevich. “Over the past decade, we’ve seen an alarming decline in digital freedom and security around the world as authoritarian governments around the world have weaponized the Internet. It’s good to see President Biden and the State Department striking back.”
