Moderators should ask about crypto at Tuesday’s debate
Today, Chamber of Progress sent a letter urging ABC News’s Linsey Davis and David Muir to ask a question about digital assets at the upcoming presidential debate. Chamber of Progress also launched an online petition where crypto-interested voters can amplify the call to raise the topic of crypto on Tuesday, when Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate for the first time.
“Voters deserve to know where the nominees stand on crypto – and they deserve to hear it straight from the nominees themselves,” said Kyle Bligen, Director of Financial Policy at Chamber of Progress. “Tuesday’s debate is an opportunity for both candidates to shed more light on their positions, but it’s up to ABC to ask the question.”
According to nationwide polling, one in five registered voters consider crypto regulation a major voting issue in the upcoming election. Former President Donald Trump has reversed his previous position on digital assets and has committed to courting the crypto vote. While Vice President Harris has not yet announced a cryptocurrency policy agenda, a top advisor recently spoke positively about Harris’ interest in crypto regulation that protects consumers.
