Jan 26, 2023

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) is calling for public comments on the creation of a National Digital Assets Research and Development Agenda. The new agenda, which will follow up on the digital assets executive order President Biden issued last year, seeks to identify R&D priorities for digital assets and develop a “a holistic vision of a digital assets ecosystem,” that embraces democratic values.

“Blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance aren’t going anywhere,” said Chamber of Progress CEO Adam Kovacevich. “The FTX fraud and crypto bankruptcies are sorting out bad actors, but we shouldn’t ignore that these technologies can offer important benefits.  It’s to our advantage to make sure they’re developed responsibly, democratically, and in the United States. ”
